3v3 Soccer Rules

  1. Roster size is a maximum of 5 players.
  2. You may only play on one roster per division. 
  3. There will be NO offsides.
  4. All players playing MUST be registered and have signed a waiver.
  5. Games will be 20 minutes in length.
  6. Substitutions will be allowed “on the fly” if the exiting player is off the field before the sub enters the field of play.
  7. A ball that hits the lights or ceiling will result in an indirect kick at midfield for the opposite team.
  8. There can be NO contact with the ball in the half circle area.  Players may pass through this area.  If a ball comes to rest in this area, a goal kick is rewarded regardless of who touched the ball last.  If a defender touches the ball in this area, a goal is rewarded.  If an offensive player touches the ball in this area, a goal kick will be awarded.
  9. A goal may be scored only from a touch from a team’s offensive side of midfield.
  10. No sliding to either tackle the ball or to save a ball.  The result is an indirect kick for the opposing team.
  11. In all dead ball situations, including the kickoff, the defenders must be at least two yards away from the ball.  If the defensive players’ goal area is closer than five yards, the ball will be placed five yards away.
  12. All dead ball kicks are indirect except for a penalty kick.
  13. A penalty kick can be awarded if the referee believes a scoring opportunity was nullified by a foul.  If this happens, the kick will be taken from the midfield line with all players behind the midfield line.  If a goal is not scored, the defense takes possession with a goal kick.
  14. Goal kicks can be taken anywhere in the goal box and can NOT travel across midfield in the air.
  15. Players may NOT wear metal cleats on the turf.  Players must wear shin guards.  No necklaces, rings, or chains can be worn during games.
  16. A yellow card will be given as a warning if needed.  The player must come off the field and be substituted immediately.  If a player or coach receives a 3rd yellow card in a session, they will be required to sit out the next scheduled game. 
  17. A red card will be given for a serious foul or dangerous play that occurs.  The player or coach will be required to leave the field immediately.  The team will be required to play down 1 player.  The person getting the red card will have to sit out the next game.
  18. Teams will be given 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.
  19. Tiebreakers will be as follows:
    1. Head-to-Head
    2. Goal Differential
    3. Total Goals Against
